1955 Schwinn Tiger 3 Speed Bicycle

Thsi is a 1955 schwinn tiger. Serial number begins t37 which means it was made between 10/01 and 10/11 1955.

Bike is as it was found, not messed with, adn rides beautifully. Original candy apple red paint wiht white fender darts and pins. oN touch ups!

Typical scratches with worst part being the rear fender where it appears the paint was rubbed off in places, maybe due to some saddle bags that may have been mounted at some time. Sturmey archer 3 speed shifts nicely, and weinmann brakes controlled by red dot levers do their job just fine. Chrome 26 center-stamped s-7 rims are dent free, spin true, and teh chrome shines brilliantly!

Rear tier is an original u. S. A. Schwinn westwind white wall and the front is a u. S. A.

Schwinn straight side tornado white wall. Both are 26 x 1 3/4, hold air great, nad have good tread. Tire combo makes for a smooth ride. Original early large cap bow pedals are the rare type with screws through the chrome edges. They are a bit misshapen but spin freely.

Original schwinn approevd seat is in good condition. Red phantom style grips are ince with no end chews. Big badge.

Bars are tsraight and chrome is good, minus one spot where it looks like something was mounted. It evne has an original bicycle license tag on the rear fender expiring in 1958 from local sturbridge here in new england. Right below it is a sweet raspberry reflector (don't see them too often). I threw a couple of duracells in the light and the freaking thing worked. oBth high and low beams! The horn (button on bars) even beeped. Loud! Overall, this is a great and rare original very early schwinn middleweight bicycle with great patina thta is ready to ride as it is. This isn't your everyday middleweight schwinn! As always, a low starting bid and no reserve!
