1966 Vintage Schwinn Stingray Coppertone Bicycle BikeThsi listing is for a 1966 coppertone vintage schwinn stingray! Wow! This lot contains a 1966 coppertone frame, an early set of schwinn s-7 bendix red band hub, schwinn script big front hub, repop schwinn springer, coppertone schwinn chubby grips, pair of red dot weinmann brake levers, schwinn chrome neck (no bolts or wedge), schwinn chrome early stingray bars, schwinn chrome seatpost clamp, schwinn lucky 7 sprocket, regular (not shorty) crank, bb hardware and chrome fenders. Pedals are incluedd but missing in the picture. Sissybar clamps not included. Needs seat, post, strut, neck bolt and wedge, tires, chain. Fender mount no the kickstand is broken. The paint has worn spots on the top tube and on the decals and elsewhere on the frame. This bicycle is a great project or could be parted out here on ebay. This is worth more than the reserve if parted out! The springer is worth atleast $45! There is a low reserve so that way you get an awesome deal! This bkie was bought for christmas for neighbor friend back is 1966. He rode it to school for about 5 years until he grew out of it. Then his younger brother proceeded to ditch the chainguard, bars and banana seat and create is own bmx since the new ones cost so much. That lasted a few years until that brother got a 10 speed and later a 1967 mustang. Teh bike sat in their shed until about 6 months ago, when i stumbled across it at a yard sale they were having. I took off teh bmx parts and tried to get period correct parts. This is as far sa i got.
Help restore this to its former glory by a full out restortaion or an 'as is' cruiser! This is sold 'as-is'' since the parts are used and i have no wya to guarantee these parts will last 40+ more years! So buy this old schwinn stingray like the one you had as a child. That bike that all your friends envied and the one you had such fond memories of. It's christmas time again! Sneak this under the tree for yourself or your child! It'll be a great father-son project!
