Description. This 1968 schwinn stingray serial number md52722, or december 1968, will be a present once again to someone very lucky thsi christmas in 2008.
Though not mint and fully restored, it is all original, untouched and all original parts three in a matching patina. Numbers matching handlebars( schwinns best shape for 68') with original starlight blue grips. Original seat is discolored along top with only two small cuts (about 3cm each) along the cross stitch. I did'nt want to recover it just because its true to the bike and still looks neat. Original slik that probably came off the showroom with it is still on the bike. It does have side wall cracking and i probably would replace it it you were going to ride this one but, if your going to just look at it leave it! I do have a replacement i can send with it as an option. The front westwnid again looks original to the bike and does have some sidewall cracks.
No repops here! All are riding on beautiful s2 and s7 rims with new stainless spokes. Bendix single speed red line hub has been disasembled and repacked with grease along with all hubs and fork bearings. Front forks have a curious small 3/8 hole drilled half way up, no effect on them, but want to be complete in my description. Paint is starlight blue with usual wear patterns, it has the nicks and chips accumulated over four deades and it still looks great when waxed! Built in a time when machnies were built! Original nad unmolested! All bearings ocmpletly disassembled, cleaned and repacked and adjusted. Wheels relaced with brand new stainless dt swiss spokes. Original rear slik. Original westwind front tire.
