This is a true survivor! This auction is for an antique / vintage original 1950s raleigh bicycle. This is one beautiful bike! It has the original vrey desirable two-toned gold and royal blue paint scheme. The lugs are very ornate and have white pinstripes aruond them. This bike is a deluxe 3 speed sturmey acrher model, complete with the original locking fork!
(i do not have the key, but this could be easily obtained by visiting a locksmith. Currently the bike is 'unlocked' making it totally ride-able as it sits! ) it has quality raleigh parts right down to the pedals - see pics - the original blocks are still intact and look great! The crank has the desirable raleigh logo on it as well.
The front fender is copmlete with fender tip. The seat is made yb brooks and has a comfortable spring saddle. The bike has brand new tires, tubes, and brake shoes as well! The rear wheel is stamped 58 on the hub, which i bleieve indicates this bike is a 1958 model. Teh rear rim is stamped 26 1 3/8 raleigh ptt no. 522483. There is a serial number stamped on the frame under the seatpost - it is crudely stamped and reads 74334 ra. This bike is also complete with oilers - on both wheels and even on the crank! As for condition, the bike rides and looks great! The sturmey archer 3 speed hbu shifts smoothly.
There are some scratches and wear on the frame, but it is in overall good shape for it's age. The rear wheel appears to have some dents where the brakes rub - see pics - the rim is usable, but makes some noise rubbing and could be replcaed or maybe repaired. I have tride to take as many photos as possible to show the condition of this bike - please ask any questions! As for measurements, etc. From the top of the seatpost to the center of the crank the bike measures 21.5 from the top of the seatpost to the ground the bike measures 30.5.
Shipping will be $80.00 via ups ground to the usa only. Please note this bike wlil be partially disassembled for shipping! I will ship it in a factory bicycle box.
